Welcome to the Triple Tree Aerodrome in Woodruff, South Carolina, for the 28th rendition of the largest Fun-Fly in the world. This event has become so popular that it's been expanded to a whole week. Records were shattered with over 950 registered pilots in attendance! Featured aircraft include Carl Bachhuber's giant C-119 Flying Box Car, Boli Muente's beautiful T-2A Tucano, Ralph Braun's huge C-47, Jerry McCallum's scratch-built 100 pound Piper L-4, Bob Wesley's Bowers Fly Baby and Bob Sawyer's 55% Sensi, just to name a few. For noontime entertainment we were treated to Mac Hodges B-29 routine as well as the articulated jet antics of Ralf Losemann and Enrico Thaeter. Mark Davidson brought out the venerable Super Bee, renamed the Kir-bee in memory of Kirby McKinney and to bring noontime to a close, dozens of warbirds tore up the skies over Triple Tree.

Join us in Fort Collins, Colorado, for the 6th year of the largest Warbird Event west of the Mississippi. Hosted by the Love-Air R/C Club and held August 28-30, 2009, this unique event drew 150 pilots with over 300 different airplanes. Our cameras were on the flight line over the weekend capturing all the action for your viewing pleasure, including Scott Davis' incredibly detailed Beech Staggerwing, Egil Wigert's huge A-10 powered by 2 P-200's, Merlyn Graves' one-of-a-kind Fokker G-1, Jimmy Cowman's 50 pound B-24 Liberator, David Morales' battle damaged Marine PBJ, and Eduardo Esteves' superbly detailed Fairchild PT-19. This is only a small sampling of what you'll see! Noontime entertainment included a warbird show featuring Giant World War I and World War II aircraft as well as simulated Bomb Explosions performed by a professional pyrotechnics company. This year's IMAA Rally of Giants was hosted by the Farview R/C Flyers, and held at Grim Airpark in the beautiful hills of Hamburg Pa. This facility featured a beautiful grass runway with a large unobstructed flying area. Pilots came from all over the area and as far away as Canada to attend. Both aerobatic and scale aircraft were flown in this relaxed and enjoyable event. Some of the featured pilots in this video include : Scott Clarke's Extra 300, Pete Malchione's Gee Bee R2, Jim Oosterhuis' F82 Twin Mustang, Hank Likes' Vagabond, John Braun's PT-17 Stearman with radial engine and Lonny Weitzel's 60% Clipped Wing Cub (cover photo).
